the invisible woman
That's how a lot of us feel in the workplace. It's unfortunate that you can bust your buns for years for a company and you're never fully recognized for your contributions. I'm confident that things will change for me. It's not about feeling sorry for myself or seeking pity. It's about making a change. That's the theme for presidential candidates, but it's my theme too for so many elements of my life.

Recognize
It's already three days into the new year and I'm determined to make this a year of big change for me. Not exactly making any resolutions, but trying to make improvements where there's definitely a need. Nothing is simple when you are married with three small children, commute over an hour to work five days a week, and find it hard to fit in once you're there. I'm tired most days just thinking about the enormous responsibilities that I have. I refuse to give up. Call me someone who relishes pain, but some of my worse experiences have made me a better person. I want to take a que from the twelve step program (no I'm not a member, but I have attended a meeting or two in support of friends). I feel the need to reach out to those I've hurt. This is no easy task since I've probably hurt some folks and don't even know it. So, for all those that I may have inadvertantly bruised in some way, I apologize. It doesn't feel the same saying it here as it probably would if I did it face to face, but I want to step in the right direction. Make ammends with someone today. Or just simply be genuinely kind to someone. There's so much death, violence and mental beating going on in the world that a pleasantry could lift someone's spirits. We are all very different in many ways and accepting that could make for a more peaceful coexistance.
